I like this formula, except I would weigh On-Demand Streams significantly heavier than video streams, because the trend is heading toward charging monthly memberships for On-Demand Services. Therefore, I would say 1k sales=25k On-Demand Streams, and 1K sales=100k video streams. Billboard is waiting for the chart dated the first Saturday in December to recalculate the formula for the points. That marks the first chart week for the 2015 Chart Year.
Billboard did the last adjustment the first week of the 2014 Chart Year. However, with a steeper drop in sales and more significant rise in streaming this year, Billboard will have to adjust significantly more this time. Also keep in mind many formats are following Top 40's lead and increasing impression and spin levels for their biggest hits, so that has to be taken into consideration too.

That needs to stop, in a perfect world radio should account 21% as maxium. Overall Streaming 42% Streaming (30% On-Demand + 12% Video Streaming) and Sales 37%

Wait until the chart dated the first Saturday in December. That marks the first week of the 2015 Chart Year. The last reconfiguration of the Hot 100 formula was the first week of the 2014 Chart Year, though this time the formula changes must be more dramatic to reach the desired percentages.

That is only three weeks away. As fast as these chart weeks go by, we can hang on a little longer  . I don't like the situation any more than you. I would like to see 40% sales, 30%% On-Demand, 20% Airplay, and 10% Video Streaming to keep it simple by 10% increments. Of course, 30+10=40.

I fixed them I believe Streaming should weight a around 3-7% more than sales since people is not buying singles anymore and they're going after On-Demand

Yeah it doesn't look like he can hang on long enough to get a boost from end of year airplay, but he could get a nice bump from the AMAs, which might stretch the stay out another week or two..

Selena's is doing very well on iTunes, Vevo and it seems like it has radio deal too  Where do you think it debuts next week?

I am willing to make sales equal to streaming but not less than streaming. I guess that is reflective of being 40 and remembering buying singles, and feeling if you really like a song you should still buy it instead of just stream it. Lowering airplay I strongly agree with. And I believe the download sites should go to .59/.79/.99 to drive up sales figures again.

Selena's debut will primarily depend on Airplay, as that's running till Wednesday. Strong streams coupled with some strong debut airplay numbers (and some sales in the shortened period) will be the trick for her scoring a good debut. And from what I hear, radio is enjoying it so far.

Well, first of all I hope you're right. I trust in you and you gave me some kind of hope that Billboard is going to change the formula for good  My biggest problem is Airplay so if they lower the most it's better. It will be interesting if they decide to take separate Streaming figures to give them own weights. I do really hope so.
I feel they're not doing that for some reason I stll don't understand but oh well, sales will keep being tragic in the next weeks
I believe one of Billboard's mistakes for this 2014 was that they didn't think about how horrible sales were going to decrease this year, and the final product was an excessive Airplay weight. But since sales already peaked and it's obvious I hope they can fix it

Take Me To Church and Blank Space are the only songs at or over 40% sales. Billboard's aim at the beginning of this chart year was 40% sales, and that is what I think should be the proper percentage. I really hope Billboard makes major changes three weeks from now when the new chart year starts.

Sales dipped slightly in 2013, but no one, including Billboard. anticipated the plummet in download sales we had in 2014. I think people assumed the dip in sales would be similar to 2013's. or maybe just a little larger, not almost 15 times bigger than 2013.

On Monday night, Adam Levine’s band Maroon 5 is going to descend on the first episode of the live playoffs, and will be performing the group’s new song “Animals.”
And their airplay should be adequate by the end of that tracking week, so maybe they can use the sales boost for the next number one?
Just... a new number one would be nice considering how airtight the top 2 has been the past few months...
