A few days ago, I asked you to vote on the second round of match-ups from the
Florence Division of our draw, and two of the top seeds breezed through.
#2 “Lovefool” and
#3 “Bitch” both dominated the competition, earning twice as many votes as #7 “Uprising” and #6 “What Is Love?,” respectively. Meanwhile, the other remaining top seed, #4 “Me and Bobby McGee,” was on the receiving end of a bad beating by
#12 “Untouched”. The only tight battle was between
#8 “Criminal” and #16 “I Wanna Be Bad,” with the former winning by just two votes in the end.
Results: Round Two (Florence Division)
(8) “Criminal” Fiona Apple def. (16) “I Wanna Be Bad” Willa Ford [12-10]
(12) “Untouched” The Veronicas def. (4) “Me and Bobby McGee” Janis Joplin [14-8]
(3) “Bitch” Meredith Brooks def. (6) “What Is Love?” Haddaway [14-8]
(2) “Lovefool” The Cardigans def. (7) “Uprising” Muse [15-7]
With that, we now move on to the
Sweet Sixteen of ATRL March Madness, where 16 songs remain chasing the title of the
greatest one-hit wonder ever. After another round full of upsets,
only four of the top seeds expected to make it this far as still left in the tournament. Check out the updated draw below (or find a larger version
