A couple of things wrong with your post:

1). The year you meant was 1991. That's the year Nielsen Soundscan started.

2). Club sales are never counted by Nielsen Soundscan.

3). The organization that does include club sales is the RIAA. The only known club sales we have are HERE. It explains the difference between RIAA certifications and early Nielsen Soundscan sales.

4). Britney is above 33M albums now just on Nielsen Soundscan and really close to 34M (though BoodyTay will need an exact Billboard article to update her numbers). DC + Bey on NSS is below 33M still.

Well, the reason club sales don't count on Neilson/Billboard is because they aren't valued enough to count as actual sales. For these discussions I think it's best that we ignore these as Billboard does.

Nielsen doesn't count them due to a payment dispute. Columbia House alone held 15.1% of CD sales in 1994. Just because certain Sony artists used reverse-order mailing does not mean that other sales weren't legit.

Britney has an album coming this year and is still shifting catalogue units. I'm not worried

So she should be at least 26.9m
