Oy vey! You know what your problem is

? You’re making this too complex. You have to break it down more simplistically for some of them. See, watch . . .

She didn't use them for color. She used them because they could twerk the best.
Not to mention that 3 of the 7 dancers in the video are actually white
So that whole post is invalid.

Good sis,
Suppose there was a rash of music videos with people getting hit over the head with mallets and inflicting brain damage, and I wanted to satirize this tired trend in a spoof video of my own because I wanna show everyone how stupid it is to give people brain damage via mallet conk.
So, in my satire, I decide to dress you up in a duck costume, and use the same mallets that other artists used in their videos, the exact same ones that I’m supposedly making fun of in my parody. Then, I beat you upside the head with said mallet, and you immediately become unconscious and hit the ground (Oops, I didn't mean to

).
Tell me, is it still a parody, or did I just crack your skull? How is my parody different from the other videos if I’m using the exact same mallets and literally hitting people over the head, just as they did? Does it matter that people supposedly "misinterpreted" my "satire" if you’re lying on the ground, bleeding out? I guess since I didn’t mean to do it and because it’s a “satire” everyone should just overlook the fact that I cracked your skull because . . . satire

I still don't like it. Black women are the most objectified people in music videos and I'm not entirely sure if she wanted to showcase it or bring black girls down. Or because there are more black girls with pretty bums and good dance moves in general.

This. This right here. That’s why Lily's portrayal of the black back up dancers is sketchy, why Lily’s clip fails as satire in that regard, and why no one pointing that out is misinterpreting ish.
