Anyway, even after the viral power subsides, the sales and regular streams could keep it afloat in the top ten, even after it loses the peak position. But radio will snub it, no matter how successful it's been already. And while airplay isn't as important as it was two weeks ago, it does remain a determining factor.

Yeah, I agree. I was talking more about the longevity though.
btw Airplay still counts more than Streaming on the chart. Harlem Shake is in a special situation cause it was watched 103 million times. Meanwhile, the #2 video "only" gathered 10 million views.
The fact that they counts the 30-sec clip, though, still isn't good for chart purposes imo but for most songs the views will be the one of the official videos or of the audio so that way it's good for determining a track popularity.
