While there is a good possibility that Gotye might be a one-hit wonder, we all can agree they gave us one of the most iconic songs of the new decade. Just everything about it is perfect. Definitely one of the ultimate favorites.

Call it generic, too pop or "another empowerment song". On a personal level, this song really inspires to keep on going in life and live it to the fullest. The amount of impact this song had on a lot of people this year, it's really amazing. Plus, it always helps to have an amazing vocalist slay the lyrics and own it. So congrats to Kelly Clarkson and "Stronger" for being the #1 Song of 2012!
