Ok I had a good laugh from this thread but I'm going to speak seriously. The title failed to be more specific on whether we are talking about this past year or overall. So, I will use both. Katy of course did have a more successful year than Beyonce, but Katy is far far far away from reaching Beyonce's worldwide legacy she has left behind so far and will continue to have.

Bey got Single Ladies and Irreplaceable.
She's an iconic performer. She's one of the most looked up to artist right now. Katy tops the charts but impact doesn't equal to impact. There's nothing impactful about Firework. It was generic. A lot of songs in 2010-2011 were about being strong so the song is iconic ALONG with other songs. But if were talking about it alone, its not.

I love Katy but let's not be delusional here. We are talking about facts not opinion.
