It's a shame that this single from her greatest hits compilation was so poorly promoted. The fact that radio programmers chose to focus on the original, slow, and not so memorable version killed its hopes of generating a large hit for the two big-voiced divas.

The lyrics are rather clever. The song was released at a time when Canada's version of Nippy was still enjoying great success in the charts. To make matters worse, they chose to make no video for it. In a few words, Arista ****ed this one up.

Connor is not a lover. He felt that one can "appreciate the drama and everything but the Beethoven sample feels a bit... Pointless." The rest of y'all, whether you loved it or hated it, had nothing much to say about it.

She was able to pull off the vocals in terms of their technicality and whatnot; however, she often failed to convey the emotion required from the song. At least in my (and alkralkra's, I'm assuming) opinion.

I think y'all did this song wrong. Just listen to the dance mix and you'll see it's not such a big mess as some people think. There are better mixes, but this is the one that I can immediately find.

No, what I'm saying is in her live performances -- before her vocal decline obvsly -- Whitney technically did a good job changing up lots of her songs, which made sense in terms of harmony, time and rhythm. In the emotional and interpretive sense, however, more often than not, they fell flat.

So far we have eliminated mainly flops (with the exception of WDIHSB). The next song to be eliminated however is our first big seller. In fact, it was number one. How it ranks this low is a bit of a surprise.

Same Script Different Cast is one of the better ballads of the second half of her career tbh. The chorus sucks, but the rest of the song is amazing. Oh well
