You're completely glossing over the same thing each time: the statistics would mark the Asian as somebody who is likely to like rice. Just like the stats would mark a man who worships Britney Spears as a likely homosexual. What is so hard to understand about that? For example, if somebody is from Québec, the stats would mark them as a likely Francophone. Does that mean that every resident of Québec is a Francophone? No! But the vast vast majority
are. If you meet somebody from Québec, there's a high chance they speak French.
