Hilary and Lindsay both haven't even sold 10 milli.
Press release from when Dignity came out:
Quote:
Dignity isn't for sale. It comes from within. Hilary Duff has always carried herself with dignity, from her 2001 TV debut starring in "Lizzy McGuire," through big screen hits like "Cinderella Story" and "Cheaper by the Dozen," to her career as a multi-platinum recording artist, with more than 13 million albums sold to date. Now Hilary brings her customary class and splash to her new Hollywood Records CD "Dignity. At 19, Hilary has matured into a sophisticated singer and songwriter. Hilary has co-written all the songs on 'Dignity', always aiming high and ultimately creating an album of depth and consequence. To realize her vision for the new CD, she teamed with Grammy-Award winning Kara Dioguardi ( Gwen Stefani, ***** Cat Dolls, Enrique Iglesias, Kelly Clarkson), as well as top producer/songwriters like Chico Bennett & Richard Vission (Madonna, Usher, Killers), Tim & Bob (Nas, Madonna, Jennifer Lopez), Vada Nobles (Rhianna, Lauryn Hill, Faith Evans, Natasha Bedingfield, Warren G), Fredwrecke (Snoop Dog, Eminem, Fergi) Will.I.Am and Rhett Lawrence. In the title track, she talks about her experiences and observations of living in Los Angeles ("Where's your dignity/I think you lost it in the Hollywood Hills"). "Danger" explores the suspect advances of an older man, while "With Love" turns the world's most common song topic upside down. ("I can take your honesty/All your words weigh heavily/I'm listening to you all the time"). The song 'Stranger' reveals a relationship that is picture perfect in public, but cold behind closed doors. With every track, Hilary probes life and love more intensely, and with more vulnerability than she has before. This is the deluxe CD/DVD version which includes 9 music videos.
Well, nobody messes with my girl like that. The 13M number came out around 2005-2006 because I recall Hilary doing a Teen People photoshoot and they put in the article, add that with the Dignity sales (and the sales of her other albums) and it could be around 15-16M. I'll wait on Duca's response.
I think you need to recheck your definition of successful.
You did Hilary and now you're doing Lindsay. Like, really?
Girls who never had at least one top 20 single don't fall under the 'successful' category.
Duca, keep it cute...
and here's the meaning of "successful" to me.

Madam Merriam and Sir Webster Spilled the tea...
and if Ciara can, everyone could... so why not Hilary and Obama Lindsay?
Hilary doesn't need to have Top 20 hits, her albums ALL sell and has more money than Ciara and Lindsay combined. Have they been on Forbes with legends like Madonna, Britney and Beyonce?

When was the last time Hilary sold an album? It's been a while dear.

Like I said when we were talking about Hilary:
Quote:
I think Hilary has all the makings to come back and have a successful recording career. Her singles have never been big but she has always had good album sales. It's kind of sad to see people write her off because Dignity underperformed on the charts.

Correct, I addressed that when we were on the Hilary topic, the album underperformed due to many factors.
Don't get me started on Lindsay, gurl. I like her music, she's made some pretty decent movies, etc etc. but I don't really see her making a full comeback once she gets out of rehab. She's used up all of her chances, and several of my friends that used to stan for her (I didn't know she had stans either....), are completely anti-LiLo now, and that's saying a lot. I wish her the best, but I don't see her making all the money she used to make, getting roles, making albums, etc. It's too bad, because her new music was shaping up to be pretty amazing....
