what happened with this?
Anyway, I made a real rating on X singles. The one I did before was done in a rush and without really considering.
I only gave four 10s this time.
#1 Beautiful Average: 9.05 Highest: 10 (x21) Lowest: 1 Released: December 2002 Genre: Blue-eyed soul, R&B, soft rock Writer(s): Linda Perry Producer(s): Linda Perry PEAK: #2 (US) MUSIC VIDEO The song won the Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the 2004 ceremony and was also nominated for Song of the Year. It was ranked number fifty-two on Rolling Stone's Top 100 songs of the decade, and at number eighteen on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of '00s list. "I'm truly proud of that song. To me it almost sounds like a Beatles song. I was trying to write a song that affected everybody -- this almost desperate cry that 'I am beautiful, no matter what you say,"Linda Perry
#2 Fighter Average: 8.95 Highest: 10 (x22) Lowest: 4 (x2) Released: June, 2003 Genre: Rock, pop rock Writer(s): Christina Aguilera, Scott Storch Producer(s): Scott Storch PEAK: #20 (US) MUSIC VIDEO It features Dave Navarro on guitar. In her first single to bear elements of rock music, a seemingly dissatisfied Aguilera seems to bemoan and scream of a man who apparently did her wrong. However, in a surprising twist, she does not want to complain or insult him; in fact, she wants to thank him. "Fighter" became the official anthem for the 2003 NBA Playoffs and was heard during the NBA Finals commercials.
I love "Fighter"! It's definitely Xtina's best up-tempo next to "Keeps Getting Better". But "Beautiful" is iconic at this point, so I think it's a fitting #1.
It definitely could have been a worse ending, but I still wish "Genie" would have won this thing. Nothing in Christina's catalog is ever touching that masterpiece.
