Who overestimated her? No professional has predicted her album sales for like 2 months now.
"Always" is a bit much when she has only released one major album.

She is bigger than she was before, and the predictions prove that.

As I said before, 500k would have been "ok" for her. Taylor and Gaga debuted with 0.8-1.2 million after huge eras, Katy Perry is called the #1 pop star of the moment and she can't even pull half of the numbers, instead, she's pulling almost the same numbers of a girl that just got her first #1 (Miley) when Katy already has 9. It's embarrassing tbh.

Total media saturation: radio, TV, print, billboards…and she's struggling to hit 300K?

The album may stay for a 2nd week atop, you don't know and maybe come back to #1 in late november or december...
And Sis, Gaga is not pulling 800k, let's not be delusional, she barely scan 644k (without the 99 cents deal) and you think that she'll sell 800k this time around unless you meant with BTW.

Katy has always been well known for her longevity though. She will get some hits out of the album and make the era last more than 2 years.

Precisely. Longevity is the key, it's a marathon not a sprint

Since when is selling close to 300k bad? Times have changed and not as many people buy albums like they used to. She improved from about 100k from her last and that right there is a success.

Taylor is an album seller. And how does #1 singles correlate to album sales? Single and album are two separate entities.

Kudos to the Katy Kats for not taking the bait. We knew what expectations we had and it's well within them. In the long run, she'll sell well and continue to dominate singles sales and charts. Klaws out, paws up!

Beyoncé and Taylor Swift seem wild in comparison to her. I know you guys will call me pressed and you'll be totally right to do so but I just had to let it all out, can't stand that woman and I have to hear her cheesy songs and see her face everywhere and everyday... she's omnipresent
Congrats though

TD was predicted to do like 600k or some ****. I can't be bothered to dig for the article. By "they" I didn't mean any fanbase, I meant music industry folk. It's not a knock on Katy, 300k is still amazing, I just don't see why they think she's going to do so much. Especially TDs prediction. Like....
