Namie Amuro Goes On Air with 103.5 KTU
[
Singer / Business women, Namie Amuro took the time out of her day Sunday night to drop by unannounced to one of NYC's most listened to radio stations, 103.5 KTU and took the opportunity to give current host Bartel a little late night interview in which dished about the 2nd album speculations, celebrities, her time off, etc. While in the studio as well Bartel decided to thank namie for dropping by out of nowhere and making his night much more interesting by playing her hit singles throughout the night on the station. Below are a few snippets of Namie's radio interview!
Q: "So Namie it's been quite a long while since anyone's heard a peep out of you or about you, from what I can last remember last time all eyes were on you you were in the midst of prepping for a new album, promoting a new single and launching a clothing line and then poof you just went into hiding like the Al Qaeda what's up with that?"
A: "Seems like my unexpected hiatus is slowly becoming one earths greatest mysterious *chuckles* but I think people are being dramatic when they say I just stop existing out of nowhere I mean before I went on hiatus I was still promoting my single Ballerina as the remix with my good friend Celine had just been released and we we're performing it a bit, not as much as I wish we could and after that I went back to Japan to promote Ballerina in Japanese since I released it while I was still in the states. I guess America just doesn't care for anything outside it's boarders unless it has to do with war *laughs*. But yea I kinda just stopped all my plans and promotions because things were getting to be a biT much for me, me and the label just weren't seeing eye to eye and I just wanted to go on Vacation to ease myself."
Q: "So whats happen from then to now during your vacation?"
A: "Well a lot actually, during my vacation I had a lot of time to reflect back on things specifically my music career and really think them through which is why I made my decision, if you haven't heard yet to leave my record label in order to go Independent and start my own label under my old label, so technically I've haven't really left but all aspects of my musical career are now in my hands. Apart from that I've recently moved back to NYC, I stayed in Japan for quite a while with my son since we haven't really paid much attention to my homeland which made me who I am today, I've also took the time out to take vocal classes, production classes and even acting classes, I'm a young Lucy Lu in the making *chuckles*"
Q: "Now you're probably tryna beat around the bush of this subject for a reason but lets talk music, your music, it's been months since the release of Ballerina and have yet to hear anything new!"
A: "*stranglers her neck in a friendly manner* Ughhhh you guys are gonna harass me about this more than you harass Britney about her mental being! But I guess It's only fair to talk about music considering my silence, plus barely anyone's awake or old enough to care about me so I'll go ahead. YES I'm in the midst of working on new music and yes the wait for your ears to hear my vocals once again is coming to and end. The songs I'm working on this time around are far different from that of "The Amuro Experience" and more diverse considering at this point we have around 60 songs just sitting on laptop waiting to do something *laughs* I really won't say much more except recycling is key to this next work of art of mine "
Q: "So during this Hiatus you know were you following any Celebrities, keeping up with current events etc.?"
A: "Definitely! I was on vacation not being anti social *side eyes* I have definitely kept in touch with some celebrities during that time, just the other day I bumped into Taylor Swift while stopping at a flea market looking for a Bathroom and some how we ended up having a dinner date at Hooters, she's a really sweet girl and super talented we spent the night out once partying being Ladies of the night and all. I've also recently caught up with Britney Jean I mean we all thought she died but surprisingly she was just rehearsing for Vegas Residency! There are other artist I've had the pleasure of meeting as well some new some old you know I give everyone a chance and some sometimes just don't take it"
