'Call Me Maybe' being better than anything La Roux has done is my opinion.
Elly being a horrible person can be backed up by the frightening things she says about domestic abuse, and the ignorant lies she spews about writing credits, claiming Carly gets teams to write for her and also calling Taylor Swift manufactured, even though neither of them have songs written for them.
What is 'sad' about it? Reasoning is always a good thing to bring.
Sad quotes = pretentious people degrading music for being child-friendly and claiming Elly is above anyone else because she doesn't act like she's part of mainstream pop.

If you think Carly's music is truly better than La Roux's, then fine. It is your opinion.
However, you do not need to say Elly is a bad person now.
La Roux writes their own songs. Where have they lied?
And I have no idea what you are talking about with the domestic abuse.

Elly lied when she implied Carly doesn't write her songs.
The domestic abuse thing has been quoted a lot throughout the thread.
No. One song in particular is not responsible.
However, I think we can all agree that the music industry is on a decline.
It is the general idea of songs like "Call Me Maybe" that cause this.
Like Elly said, vending machine production and stupid messages.
I just met you,
And this is crazy,
So heres my number,
Call me maybe.
And then in the video the guy turns out to be gay.
What is that trying to say?

The music industry is actually on a rise thanks to Adele & Lady Gaga.
Those lyrics are just vending machine production as "This time I'll be bulletproof" hear 20x in one song with just as dumb lyrics such as:
"Been there done that
Messed around
I'm having fun' don't pull me down"

It's trying to capture a moment of instant infatuation, which it does rather well in my opinion. It's an unashamedly joyous song.
What's this trying to say?
Quote:
This time baby I’ll be bulletproof x2
This time baby I’ll be bulletproof x2
This time I'll be bulletproof x2
This time maybe I’ll be bulletproof x2
This time baby I’ll be bulletproof x2
Hmmm... My guess is that this time, baby, she'll be bulletproof. Not exactly Shakespeare either.
EDIT: Not me and Rebel typing out practically the exact same message...
While I love La Roux, I must say that Elly is really digging herself a huge gaping hole. People will look back on this and it will really impact her future as a musician. So, guess that new album or whatever may very well tank under all the media pressure. Shame.
I never saw her say Carly doesn't write any of her songs.
She was attacking the general idea of these trashy artists.
Many of them don't write their own songs.

Excuse me whilst I look at your sig and try not to get too offended by that insult.
Oh look another song in that irritating higher register. Completely generic production as well. This is what people are calling innovative? Okee-dokee.

Then why are you coming to Carly's defense?
Probably because Carly isn't going around degrading and insulting other artists?
And why is Elly 'attacking' the music industry because some artists don't write their own lyrics? I guess she doesn't consider Frank Sinatra or Aretha Franklin true artists either then? More importantly, why does she care who writes the lyrics to a song? She should concentrate on her own songwriting if it's so important to her.

Elly Jackson, the new John Lennon.
Those are two artists who help the industry with their own points of view and sell albums.
However, they those two do not solely make up the industry.
Music is on a decline. I don't know why you cannot see that.

That is trying to say that in the relationship, she doesn't want to be hurt again.
It is repeated because it is the hook. There are other lyrics.
Lyrics that are stronger than Carly.
Isn't she 26 years old or something? And making juvenile pop songs? And getting her promo form being friend of Justin Bieber? What's left of credibility here?

I never said it's innovative, but it's better than Call Me ******.
And I will let you know that I enjoy a decent amount of music. I even liked Fearless by Taylor. I haven't listened to Speak Now in full, but from what I have heard (Speak Now, Mine, Back to December, Enchanted), it sounds just as good.
