'They Don't Care About Us' is the 4th single from the 'HIStory' album as was written and produced by Michael, released March 31st 1996. It is one of his most controversial songs as in the US it suffered scrutiny surrounding anti-Semitic lyrics causing him to re-record some of the lyrics, even though the media had taken the lyrics the wrong way. However, it reached top 10 in all European countries and peaked #30 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #4 in the UK.
'Human Nature' is the 5th top 10 hit single from the 'Thriller' and was released July 3rd 1983. It reached #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 but was not released in the UK.
'Bad' was released September 7th 1987 as the 2nd single, and 2nd number one, from the album of the same name. It was written by Michael and co-produced by himself and Quincy Jones. It reached #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 as well as 6 other countries and #3 in the UK.
'Scream', a duet with Michael's sister Janet, was released alongside 'Childhood' as the lead single from the 'HIStory' album. Released May 31st 1995, it is co-written and co-produced by Michael and he played many of the instruments, like the keyboard, synthesizer, guitar and drums. The song was nominated for a Grammy Award and an American Music Award as well as the video winning numerous MTV Video Music Awards. It cost $7million and is the most expensive music video ever made. The single is the first song to debut at number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also peaked at #3 in the UK and top 5 in around 10 other countries.
