Is syndication based on number of episodes or number of seasons? Because I'm trying to figure out why Fox wants a larger order for The Carmicheal Show when its a co-production which also means NBC has a stake in its success (even though Fox has the majority stake).
Shocked at the editing on the trailer for This is US actually showed butt crack. I thought that was a network televsion no no.
Also December is going to be really interesting for NBC with them doing the Dolly special, Hairspray live, Thursday Night football plus now they own the rights to all the classic claymation films (rudolph, frosty, santa claus is coming to town, etc) along with whatever else.
If you got 4 6-episode seasons, for example, how would some cable channel feel it was worth it to strip 5 days a week?
It would need to go in a new cycle every 5 weeks.

They're likely betting on the Chicago franchise being able to build on its own and The Blacklist tends to do better when it has a better lead in. I think its a solid plan.
Chicago Med is the least established Chicago show though. Its power on its own is untested after less than a season.
Correct, but they're betting on the franchise's history to be able to self start and hold its own wherever it ends up. Med has been solid enough all season to gamble on it
that show can be really good if the creative team behind it is solid!
