When I see these girls trying hard for the supposed respect and supposed critical acclaim cards I just remember Marilyn Monroe... She was considered a joke in the movie industry for many years, despite her success (she was the first huge celebrity wasn't she?)... Would you say she's not a legend?
And what did Em do in the late 2000s that is so legendary? Not Afraid? Crack a Bottle? Love the Way You Lie? The Monster?

Eminem, and I say this as a fan of both. That doesn't discredit Britney though, as both have accomplished a lot and their legacies shouldn't be downplayed.
