I actually don't see it as pessimism, more like realism. The odds are against her. I can't remember the last time anyone had a debut this huge that went beyond the music and permeated pop culture. More than likely, the only way to go is down.

That is an interesting outlook, though I'm sure it's more an opinion. It is true what you said, but perhaps she will be the first to break beyond the debut impact? Perhaps she'll have something ala Bionic. You never know.
I personally think she'll find a way to keep the impact huge. If I'm wrong, so be it, but that's just my opinion for now until she proves otherwise.

Yeah, who knows. At the end of the day, she just needs to deliver some hot songs. And with Bad Romance, she proved she can deliver hot songs beyond what was on The Fame.

This is something I teach my students as a very basic fundamental of fact vs opinion - you cannot measure "the whole world" at least in your argument (whatever it is). Even if it is "most of the world" there would theoretically be that other minor percent that disagrees with you - thus nullifying your "fact" and keeping it an opinion.
