The technical nominations/wins are for the Director, Editor, choreographer, etc., not the artist.

There are some exceptions like for example in 2006 Shakira won Best Choreography because she did the choreography for her own video.

In case of Rude Boy, the nomination is for the Editor, not Rihanna.

Where exactly did Eminem's 8 nominations come from? If the tech cats don't count and I only counted four nominations (Best Male, VOTY, Hip Hop Video x 2), then where are the rest?
