The American public is collectively suppressing the fact that the economy has gone down the tubes and that we are in the middle of a recession. Just like during the Great Depression, the American people are using music as a form of escapism and they simply do not want to hear someone telling them to get to work.
It will not be until at least a decade from now when Britney's avant-garde political genius will finally be recognized and put in the history textbooks once and for all.
She didn't even mention it in the one promotional spot that her indie label could afford for her!
