It might have a second life, but at this point, its a massive flop of epic proportions.

It got some of the biggest, most strategic campaign I've seen in recent memory.

Its would have been better if they let the song have a natural rollout.

Sometimes too much promo can backfire.

Ya, its so generic and uninspired. And video is corny as hell like she's trying to look and be young.

She could have done another Confessions, and it would have slayed. Something more mature, semi-political, faux-profound, but at least it speaks to her older core fanbase.

GMAYL is like her trying to compete and trying to get popgirls' fanbase. .It just makes her less of what she is.

On a positive note, her tour will slay where older acts are big. That's kinda where she belongs now, not the charts, and that's not a bad thing.

One of my friends suggested that she merely releases albums to give her a reason to tour, which is where the big money is at. In light of how mediocre this lead single is, it might actually be true.

It's as if after "Confessions On A Dancefloor," somebody in her camp told her, "Hey, Madonna, don't worry about investing too much time and effort into the next album," and that's how we ended up with "Hard Candy" and now this single.

But who knows? Maybe the upcoming albums will have some real gems on it. Usually the lead single is supposed to be one of the strongest songs on the album. I hope that is not the case for Madonna's new album.

maybe not flopped, but peaked.
It just isn't a good enough MADONNA song. She needs a real smash for single #2 for me to have any faith for MDNA.
Also, having Nicki and M.I.A come out with better songs right around the same time is not going to help, not to mention that it is kind of sad.
