Album Review:
Landing at the 10th spot for my top 20 albums is David Guetta with his follow-up dance-themed album for Nothing But The Beat. Judging by the album’s title itself, you could expect David Guetta providing us great song mix with the help of today’s biggest artists. I didn’t expect anything from him this year but listening to each songs being released from this album made me praise his awesomeness as a DJ. Nothing But The Beat has come to match the success for the previous record which contains stuck to your head dance track. ‘Where Them Girls At’ opens up the party with the help of rapper Flo Rida and the craziness of Nicki Minaj nailing the coffin. Taio Cruz and Ludacris continues the party with the irresistible ‘Little Bad Girl’. One of my favorites of the album and was confirmed as the next single ‘Turn Me On’; again Nicki Minaj owns this track calling out her doctor to save her. Snoop Dogg asks some mix to make the sexy ‘Sweat’ be more danceable and catchy while Usher provides life on the current dance anthem ‘Without You’. I thought this song will be a flop but after hearing it over and over again, it has surely become one of my favorites. The tracks are also club bangers like the auto-tuned ‘Nothing Really Matters’ featuring Will.I.Am and the crazy and danceable beat for ‘Crank It Up’ featuring Akon. Jennifer Hudson owns ‘Night Of Your Life’ which I consider to be the ‘Commander’ of this album. Jessie J joins the fun with catchy ‘Repeat’ while the album ends with ‘Titanium’, which is one of the standout tracks of the album. Sia delivered the song so uniquely which will really put you in a party mood. Overall, David Guetta managed to work with the talented artists of today; truly Nothing But The Beat is one great collection of dance beats if you want to listen to a various artists.

Album Review:
His debut solo album is filled with great R&B single potentials and this year, Jason Derulo released his sophomore album entitled Future History. The album’s name is really ironic that will really catch your attention. I wasn’t really expecting Jason to top his debut album however judging from the singles, it made me want to listen to this album and I did not regret it. Future History offers consistent vocals for each track starting with the lead single ‘Don’t Wanna Go Home’; The intro line will really remind you of the Jamaican folk song ‘Day-O’. The standout track is next with ‘It Girl’, this song is a grower and you cannot resist the whistle part which is the highlight of the track. The danceable ‘Breathing’ is next followed by the R&B tune ‘Be Careful’. One of my favorites of the album is his latest single for the catchy ‘Fight For You’. This song will surely be another memorable hit from Derulo. He sings about forgiveness and forgetting the past with ‘Pick Up The Pieces’ while he stops searching for her love cause he finally found that someone on ‘Givin’ Up’. Jason lets it out all for ‘Bleed Out’ and he sings that he’s still in love with his ex on ‘X’. The album ends on a high note with ‘Dumb’, one of the best R&B tunes of the album where it talks about being dumb to think he will be loved back. Though commercially, this album did not do well in the charts, Jason Derulo did a great job delivering a good R&B record for this year. I’m expecting him to level up the next time offers a new album just like Future History.
