The only single she's flopped was Marry the Night, and Billboard wrote and article on why they think it flopped.
The rest of her singles were top 10's.
People just like to find the one mistake and use it against someone.
My advice:
Tell a Katy stan about how Thinking of You peaked at 29 on the Billboard hot 100 (much like Marry the Night)
Tell a Beyonce stan about how 4 flopped.
Tell a Rihanna stan about how many flops Rihanna's had. (The entire Rated R album for example)
Or a Britney stan about Criminal.
................
This of course, is only if they call Gaga a flop. I for one love Beyonce, but facts are facts, and flops are flops.

I don't really think this post should've had a warning, as all of what you said is true.
But look at it the other way. The melt-downs from those other fanbases when they had those "flops" were so tame compared to what we saw with Marry the Night. When Man Down flopped Rihanna fans were like "Oh, that's a shame", but when Marry the Night flopped, there were trending topics on Twitter, arguements with radio DJs, 20 page-long threads on here and all sorts. So over the top.
People need to calm down about flop singles imo. Beyonce, Rihanna, Britney, Madonna, etc. have had SO many flops over their career. It's really not a big deal. Just move on to the next single or album. Nobody needs these melt-downs.

The meltdowns are entertaining. xD I really thought MTN was going to be a top ten hit at least. Then I came back a week after the music video premiered and I saw a kajillion "GAGA IS FLOPPING" threads and I just sat there like:

I think if you put it in perspective, it's that they're all scared her career is in danger, which, it's in a state of limbo at this point.
Sure she's doing well on the touring side of the coin, but... when you look at it the charting side of it, two of her contemporaries, Katy and Adele, have each had three number one US singles since Born This Way debuted in February. Rihanna had one week with S&M and then had a huge hit with We Found Love. She didn't have a single in the top ten of the 2011, whereas Katy had two, Christina had a MLJ feature, Nicki had Super Bass, and Adele had THE top single with RITD.
At one point, many were so threatened by Adele, that groups of them dragged her on Twitter for her weight, and other things that were irrelevant to her success. Until Gaga finally said enough was enough, because ultimately, those individuals were making her and her entire fanbase look bad. Those same people are the ones that have been dragging Katy, Xtina, Britney, Kesha, Rihanna, and Nicki through the mud as well. They're the ones that said "Madonna's halftime show was nothing special" just for the sake of being obstinate. If anybody makes a negative remark about her, like Kelly Osbourne or BoomKack, you'd bet that their mentions would be swarmed by angry monsters.
Granted, not all monsters are the same, and that is something people tend to forget about ALL stan bases. You assume that every last stan member has that hive mindset, and you get a negative impression on all of them.
But really, the only people who think Gaga's career has any chance of being over are just the haters that EVERY artist possesses and the stans that are simply insecure about her status as of right now. She'll be okay, and that's what MusicIntellectual was getting at, I think.

She set the bar so high for herself during the first 2 era's that if she even has 1 'flop' single then it means she's fading.
Take Rihanna for example; Album sales 1m, 3M, 7m, 3m, 8m, TTT? -
The GGGB era was so flawless and iconic that Rated R made her a 'flop' but Loud launched her back.
My conclusion; Wait until an era has finished (and possibly a new one has started) before calling it a flop. This tour could propel BTW's sales especially because in each country she visits she'll be doing interviews and other things, BTW's sales could reach a huge peak even with small weekly sales. I mean, The BTW Ball has 110+ dates, right? and knowing Gaga, there will probably be additional dates.

That was what I was getting at. That every artist flops. But I don't know what you were saying when you said Gaga didn't have a top 10 in 2011, because Born This Way (single) was a hit, Judas peaked at 7, Edge Of Glory was another top 10 and so was You and I.

"Judas" peaked at #10 and it was not a hit. Didn't even sell 1k in the US, didn't cross 40m A.I., and is nowhere to be found on mediatraffic's end of year list.

Yeah but that kind of has nothing to do with the topic at hand since TEOG picked the era back up pretty quickly.

Yeah I think it's the haters that want to see her fade and the unsure fans who are not sure if she truly is fading. She's fine and if she makes music that caters to the general public next time around she'll do even better.

A lot of pop stars are fading....Beyonce is the most obvious, Avril doesn't even have to be mentioned.....as much as it pains me to say, so is Britney.
The industry is changing, radio is changing again, lots of new acts are taking hold. There is a lack of a big male star but i feel this will change very soon...if Gotye scores another smash from his album he could be it.

She hasn't done as good this era which is why it looks like she is fading, the interest in her has died down. I don't think she is going anywhere though.

For many reasons
"Born This Way" was hyped up to the fullest (by Gaga and her stans)
it debuted with 1 million... but yet it stalled at 2 million.. which struggle to hit that mark
it is the LOWEST selling 1 million debut album
look at the other 1 million debuts and their final outcome for verification!
The hype, the promo and the 99 cent discount didn't do much
truth be told, this album sold off hype..
when the hype died, so did the album
To deny this will be ignorance!
Can Gaga bounce back?... Yeap! But it will take work and originality!
as of now
Gaga is giving off Cyndi Lauper teas, who started out big, than became a fad before her 4th album
FYI:
Cyndi and Madonna debuted at the same time, and Cyndi during her debut was bigger than
Madonna and look who is still here and relevant
and the reason why Cyndi faded was because society got tired of her attention seeking antics aka gimmicks
they wanted to see the REAL Cyndi, not the gimmicks and theatrics.. when Cyndi finally showed her human
side (4th album) it was simply to late
