So I've been at work, literally all day. So I haven't been able to join in with all the excitement, but I was personally freaking out at work (not because Gaga was hyping it, because I don't see her doing that whatsoever) but by us just having a new Gaga song, and the further fact that people who attended Sundance actually recognized the song enough to feel the need to mention it on Twitter..
I'm actually not freaking out now, and I've also read Gaga's manager Bobby say they have no plans to release the song to iTunes, which for me completely defeats the purposes, and removes some of the excitement for us fans, who want to buy the song, actually spend our money, but it's also kind've refreshing that they don't want our money, rather Gaga is just contributing to a film, that she obviously believes in for it's message, and wanted to be apart of it, and possibly was asked to be apart of it. And couldn't refuse, which I think is brilliant, and inspiring for all of us..
But then it got me thinking also, that maybe the song just isn't as good as Diane Warren is saying, saying "it's an all-time classic" would imply that would actually be a song tangible to the public, a song that people would recognize, worldwide, and to do that, you are gonna have to sell the song, and send it to the masses, and if not sell, at least allow it to be played on radio, or streamed on YouTube or something. But with it not getting an iTunes release, or so they say for now makes me think it really isn't that brilliant, to the point where Gaga feels the need to fight for this song to become an all-time classic Gaga track, but rather it just be a contribution to a film. Which I think is great. And maybe Gaga really doesn't want to release anything that she didn't write on, because it is being implied that the lyrics were written by Diane Warren, this is something Gaga has never done before, allow someone else to write a song for her, she actually did say on Twitter "recorded" which makes me feel Diane wrote the song, and Gaga actually had a lot less contribution than she normally would on one of her projects, which I think is brilliant, that Gaga can now open up her scope, to allow projects that are great to come along, and welcome them, if they're meant for her, even if she lets go of some of the control sometimes, but then some people are saying Gaga co-wrote the song with Diane Warren, which then I believe it should be released to iTunes, but the other note could be that they just signed away the rights to this song to the movie publishers, and it's up to them how they release the song, and I doubt it'd be released in a way like the mockingbird soundtrack, as this was just a documentary, and not some big motion picture film.
Oh and if it's true that Diane wrote the song, little monsters hyping about an Oscar nom/win Gaga wouldn't be credited for the song, it'd be Diane who won the Oscar, just in the way that Lana Del Rey wasn't credited for her part in the Big Eyes song.
I'd love to hear it, but I'd also love a new album,
that's basically my feels
