This is nothing more than an excuse. iTunes ranking barely shows anything at this point.
Justin has been #1 on HDS for like what 10-11 weeks? But what song was #1 on The Hot 100 for its entire run except its first week when it debuted at #1? Yeah One Dance the massive streaming hit because it IS more popular.
Spotify > iTunes
The music industry revenue is increasing even with iTunes becoming irrelevant because streaming is becoming a huge powerhouse. Downloads simply don't indicate the populaity of songs like it used to because downloads are become less and less relevant with the GP.
I mean just go talk to people in real life. Everyone I know either has Spotify or Apple Music and no longer download (or pirates) their music. This is why One Dance seemed infinitely bigger than CSTF despite the latter topping iTunes for so many weeks.
Meghan doesn't do well on YouTube, Spotify, and is panned on radio. her album isn't selling either like her first era. She pretty much only has these mediocre single sales. She isn't doing well.
