She is successful...she has a small but highly devoted audience that will follow her for potentially decades to come. It's a much better boat to be in than a Jason DeRulo who depends on his latest radio hit, and once those dry up (which they already have in his case) that's it. Carly is the Canadian Kylie at this point. Success doesn't always mean selling out arenas. Making a tidy profit and being able to keep doing what you do can be enough.

Plus Call Me Maybe was the type of hit that will give her royalties for her whole life

Carly can afford to travel around the world and takes spontaneous Nicaraguan vacations with her band. Literally living my dream. Loose is afraid to set foot south of Texas on the other hand.

EMOTION flopped in album sales but it didn't do that badly as an era. I Really Like You was a big hit in the UK and Japan and has like 220m streams on Spotify and 150m VEVO views. She was able to do a theatre tour. She got four singles with music videos and a follow up EP of unreleased material. Clearly they made a profit.

Emotion is good but it's really just a standard good pop album. Not sure why Delirium gets hate from the same people. It has those same "basic bops". If Delirium didn't have hit singles it'd be praised on here.
