After a second/third/fourth listen on the better video...I actually do like the cover. I mean, it's not the best this tour by any means. Much better than my initial reaction.
MJ & Edge. We all know they are different artists/personalities in EVERY way. Really difficult to compare them.
To each their own. One is can churn out better hits than the other. One can sing better than the other. Both will go down making history and will be legends in their own way. They'll both have made their mark. End of.

Feel the POWER of BEYONCE!
That video...bahaha. I want Kelly, Rih, Bey, Xtina, Brit & Gaga singing that song together.

I do love this song so much. I don't think Kelly can do this song justice but she does surprise me from time to time. Maybe her, Beyonce and GaGa. Britney is not a belter but I think Rihanna could squeeze in there if she brings her vocals from Drunk on Love/Fool in love/California King Bed. Her belts have gotten so strong lately.
Kelly's never the one with smash lead singles. MLWSWY is the only one but the longevity of that song was horrible. And to think Kelly can outsell Rihanna in the day and age is priceless.
Miss Independent? Breakaway? Eventhough Mr.Know It All wasn't a mega smash, it was a hit. All of Kelly's lead singles have longevity. Kelly is all about longevity and Rihanna is simply not.
Stronger is the only album of Kelly's to sell under 200k.
Exactly.
Thankful: 297,000
Breakaway: 250,000
My December: 291,000
All I Ever Wanted: 255,000
Stonger: 169,000 (With a weak first single)
Music Of Th Sun: 69,000
A Girl Like Me: 115,000
Good Girl Gone Bad: 168,000
Rated R: 181,000
Loud: 207,000
TTT: 197,000
If Stronger was the lead single, the album would for sure be over 200k.
There is no point of discussing this. It's clear that Rihanna is a single artist and Kelly a album artist. And Edge is delusional when it comes to Rihanna.
I wouldn't say Edge is delusional, except in the sense that he doesn't think Kelly could outsell Rih week one. In that case, Kelly absolutely could with the proper first single.
It's just sustaining the sales and staying relevant is where Kelly struggles. It's only because RCA often picks the wrong singles, not ENOUGH singles and there isn't always enough promo. Hello, Dark Side. Kelly is also kind of vanilla compared to the other pop stars. She uses her voice rather than gimmicks to propel her career. Sadly, the gimmicks often sell more than the voice.
But anyway, like I said, Rih has sold more consistently simply because she plays the game more than Kelly and she has double the amount of singles and exposure because of it. Absolutely doesn't mean that Rih is more capable of putting out hits, it just means she runs to the hitmakers and it works.
Thankful: 297,000 > MLT: #1/MI: #9
Breakaway: 250,000 > Breakaway: #6
My December: 291,000 > NA: #8
All I Ever Wanted: 255,000 > MLWSWY: #1
Stonger: 169,000 > MKIA: #10 Wasn't weak. It's a great song.
Music Of Th Sun: 69,000 > PDR: #2
A Girl Like Me: 115,000 > SOS: #1
Good Girl Gone Bad: 168,000 > Umbrella: #1
Rated R: 181,000 > Russian Roulette: #9 Great song but weak lead single
Loud: 207,000 > OG: #1
TTT: 197,000 > WFL : #1
Oh honey, and yet, who's singles have had higher peaks AND has lead to higher album sales OVERALL WW? Kelly's only had one smash and that's MLWSWY. At you saying MI, BA and MKIA is a smash... They're hits. not smashes.

If Stronger was the lead single, it would have been ALEW fiasco all over again. The album would have burned out even faster and taken even longer to reach platinum. BeCAUSE Stronger was the second single, we are on track to getting platinum by the end of this year.
And you say Kelly is an album artist yet...95% of her album sales have come from one era. Do try to keep up.
Um, why is the Get Up under all access?
Puke. HTTR.
I don't understand you? Under all access?

TBH, that was my first thought. Since Breakaway came out at the end of the physical sales age, not a lot of people have the digital versions of her hit songs...meaning they might download the GH when it comes out, which might lead to SUBG catching up to the sales or at least surpassing other Idol's highest selling single. Hell, even BOY could do with a push to 7 million and it will rise even higher on the all time highest selling singles!

Where do you see it there? I subscribe to e-mails for radio stuff under All Access and one of my e-mails was about the Pepsi NFL Anthems. It had the pic of Kelly and the other artists that made the songs and said that on August 14th the NFL and Pepsi announced the anthems and blah blah. It included a link to hear the songs and that was it. It didn't mention anything about them being singles or being released digitally. I don't see anything about Get Up under future releases on any format or anything, either. So, if you're wondering if that's going to be the next single, I'd bet on no. And I better not be wrong on that
The next new single should either be the Darkchild song or another Kurstin song.
If Get Up was released, would it be a bigger flop than AIEW? How high did AIEW peak? Did it even chart? Bubbling under?
It's not gonna be released
But AIEW managed #96 on the Hot100, #37 on Pop and #11 on HAC. Just missed having another top 10 there
Really not THAT terrible for simply getting an adds date with zero promo or a video. I actually think if it were a proper single and got a video with some promo it could have managed Top 20 on Pop and maybe #1 on HAC.
I do like Rihanna's music, and I think she's fun. However, compared to Kelly, they are completely different. Rihanna is a single artist that gets w/ the best hit producers. Kelly is an album artist that is critically acclaimed for her voice and artistry. They are successful in different ways.
