Just got through the album, it's beautiful! I can see it growing on me even more with each listen. I'm so happy for her, this is such a strong comeback musically.
This is honestly her most sonically ambitious album,. As groundbreaking as her string of albums from Control to The Velvet Rope were, there is a palpable sense of fearlessness in exploring new sounds for her on this record. You don't get a sense that she is at all concerned about the commercial repercussions of doing something completely out of the ordinary for her discography on this collection of songs.
I thought Rhythm Nation was. I feel like vocally it is underrated. I still think vocally that album iis superior to the others. This one is place in second.
BOUGHT IT. that's right. My first album purchase ever. Seriously. And it's the legendary Miss Jackson. God I love this album so much. Janet is truly an idol.

This album to me is upbeat yet mellow, mature yet youthful, sassy. Janet is naturally sexy. She doesn't mention anything sexual or even moans on this album. But she is just naturally sexy and sensual so that still feeds you classic Janet without going overboard or bold with the baby making songs.
So fresh and current yet sooo throwback. You kind of visit every mainstream successful era she has done since Control.
