It's a tool some music execs use to predict hits in advance like it's not 100% accurate but especially for new songs that usually works because they're either being played on radio, or have some sort of big exposure/promo happening so there will obviously be consumers for it if they want to know what song is being played (I assume you know what Shazam is/how it works?)

It's just weird cuz I don't see where CYL could've gotten exposure this past week to chart so high + Beg For It has been consistently on the Shazam top 20 for the past few weeks and now it just disappeared when it was performed at the AMAs/went top 20 on iTunes and is still being played constantly on the radio (or at least more than CYL )
