At the same time though I feel like she brought some of it her herself because she allowed herself to become a doormat. She could have refused to help Damon open up the tomb to let all the vampires out. If she had listened to her grandmother and stayed out of it than maybe her grandmother wouldn't have died from overuse of magic.
With Abby - they had no business opening the casket just because Stefan ordered them to and was acting like a lunatic. They had no idea what was in it or what they were doing. Abby even said that she thought it was a bad idea - but Bonnie wouldn't listen. Had they not released Esther she wouldn't have tried to exterminate the vampire species and Abby wouldn't have been turned into a vampire and neither would Alaric.
She needs to learn to stand-up for herself and stop letting the Salvatores order her around all the time.
And with Jeremy - her Grams told her that she couldn't bring him back but she refused to listen to her and proceeded to do it anyway and it killed her. I wish that Bonnie valued her own life more and wasn't always sacrificing herself for Jeremy and Elena.
