Love it. Loved It before they gave it a mega and fairy type, still do.
I don't automatically hate the more humanshape designs, I just think there should be something more interesting to them than just being humanlike. Mawile goes above and beyond with the most literally fierce hair in the game. Serving loud wig indeed. Love the juxtaposition in her design... a sweet cutie girly design with a monstrous mouth hungry for your pokémon. Those are actually just steel horns though, not teeth. I was disappointed they did her wrong stat-wise, and even though her Mega helped, I still prefer the original. They also did her wrong by spelling ha damn name wrong in the Ruby pokédex
And the bellbottom pants? Chic.

A pokémon with ambiguous basis or origin is not always a bad thing sis. If you really need one solid answer, the biggest fan theory is it is based on the 'futakuchi-onna, a woman with a mouth in the back of her head'. So more Japanese lore.
