You're joking about that, right? I have to respectfully disagree with your opinion on that, and here's why:

Gaga flopped with You and I WW, and CKB didn't really do much of anything in the US.

You and I was very local. Top ten in the US MAINLY due to VMA exposure. And the song ended up killing her radio momentum by the time Marry The Night was released. I mean, the AI numbers show that radio programmers weren't into playing it, period.

And California King Bed was managed terribly, failing to really impact the US at all.

Anyway, Rihanna's still big on Spotify streaming. WFL was a topper on there for a while. As an urban crossover artist, she'll still have a career. Like I said before, it's artists like Gaga and Perry that I'm unsure about. I have no idea what their Spotify support will be, compared to Rihanna and Nicki who are doing comparatively well.

LOL. No, this couldn't be more wrong. It was selling poorly despite promo, then jumped to #23 (sales)/#35 (Hot 100; video premiere. The next week (VMAs), it jumped to top ten sales benefiting Sunday night sales, but not enough for Hot 100 (#16 instead). Then after full week of VMA effect, it went top ten.

But fell back out in like 3 weeks since VMAs wore off, causing the rush announcement of "MTN", which people thought would do good since it was 'dance-pop', actually, not because of "YAI", which quickly peaked then descended.

Nope. I distinctly remember checking its position beforehand to see the promo effect. It was already top 5 and the VMAs pushed it to #3 briefly.

I was under impression Clash was talking Hot 100 chart, where it did take the VMAs to edge it into the top ten. The 109k it sold the week it went top ten (iTunes) from the ending effects of video contributed to the #16 peak. Considering it headed back down the chart soon after finally getting in the top ten with video, without VMAs it'd had peaked outside.

Yeah. That's what I meant, entirely. It got the bigger digital boost from the VMAs, but after that, it fell because radio really wasn't behind it. They were way more interested in playing Someone Like You.

Neither were particularly radio friendly. Adele's performance was much acclaimed though, while people I know as casual fans of Gaga were... Well, they were shaking their heads at her performance under the guise of Jo Calderone. So, its impact was minimal by comparison

Y&I was going to go Top 10 on Hot 100 even without the VMAs. It had just broken into the Top 10 on iTunes before the VMAs and was beginning to benefit from the front page exposure, but obviously her performance sped things along.
