Promo singles won't work this time for Gaga. I think her team is aware. she's not as big as she used to be during the beginning of Born This Way era digitally.
Not a promo single one week after the second single
I know, I wish Venus was coming October 14 or 21. Applause is D E A D worldwide and has dropped to #9 - #20 across the Billboard streaming, digital sales, youtube, etc. chart. Promo singles aren't a good idea just as the second single is stabilising. I just really feel she needs it for album sales.
It did end well actually. both singles did really good digitally, especially TEOG that due to critics praise became the official third single and made everyone forget about the Judas tragedy (which I, personally LOVED. one of my favorite songs of hers).
