I cant..im literally lipsyncing this and miming as im strutting on my way home, going to the grocery, buyying errands..glad no one noticed or gets bugged at me tho
Honestly this is Kellys best album since My December...
I loved Stronger but it was Breakaway 2.0
I love all these songs though.
Piece By Piece is so beautiful, it's like a happy ending\sequel to Because Of You
Take You High is just amazing. She's never done a song like this and this b song was the risk she needed to take.
Run Run Run makes me cry. What a beautiful chorus.I love her belting at the end.
Invincible needs to be a single. Is vocally the strongest on the album. The belt right after the bridge, "What was I running from?" Holy amazing vocals. And I don't think I've ever heard Kelly break into her falsetto or whistle tones on an album. Sounds amazing.
Alright, so I've just listened to the album..well..some songs are ok..like PBP, HBS, Someone..but I don't feel the whole thing..I guess it's my least fave album by her..(along with Thankful lol)
I'm finally writing my review now that I have had a couple weeks to digest this album. Overall, Piece by Piece is so different from other albums which featured a prominent pop rock sound (Thankful notwithstanding) that I don't where it ranks in my overall order of Kelly albums. Here is my track by track review:
1. Heartbeat Song - When this first premiered I thought it was catchy, but not very memorable or new. It's grown on me, but not breaking any new territory for Kelly. 7/10
2. Invincible - Upon first listen I thought some of the lyrics were a little awkward, but Kelly's vocals are amazing. It's grown on me and think it is the best choice as the second single. It's empowering and memorable, but doesn't wear you down after multiple listens like Heartbeat Song. 9/10
3. Someone - This song reminds me of Honestly from Stronger for some reason. The verses have such a good build up, but the chorus leaves a little to be desired. I don't know what it is. 7/10
4. Take You High - This song is such a new direction for Kelly and I love it. I didn't know what to think of the production quips at the end of each chorus, but now I love them. I'm glad that Kelly tried something new and it worked. 9/10
5. Piece by Piece - I loved it on the first listen and it gets even better with each listen. The lyrics are spot on for Kelly's life and even though it's not a happy ending, there is a resolution to the conflict Kelly is feeling. 10/10
6. Run, Run, Run - I don't really like it as much as other people do. All I have to say is that it starts out kind of slow and isn't really that interesting until the ending. 5/10
7. I Had a Dream - I don't know why people hate on this. The chorus is one of the strongest on the album and I love the message behind this song. 9/10
8. Let Your Tears Fall - This song is alright. It's just kind of there. I don't really have strong feelings about it or much to write about it either way. 6/10
9. Tightrope - This song is very pretty and and Kelly sings very vulnerable and emotional during it about not being loved back by someone she is enamored with. 10/10
10. War Paint - This is definitely one of my favorites. I love the buildup in the verses and choruses. It fits with the lyrics very well. It's very catchy and addictive. I find myself singing this out loud for no reason randomly. 10/10
11. Dance With Me - This has a very relaxed and laid back vibe. The lyrics could be stronger, but it is a fun, easygoing song. 9/10
12. Nostalgic - This song is definitely the catchiest on the album. It has the retro 80's vibe similar to Taylor Swift's recent songs except with a lot stronger vocals, which is something that the bothers me with some of the songs on 1989. 10/10
13. Good Goes the Bye - I don't really know what to think of this song. It's kind of weird. The lyrics and production had the potential to be a lot better the final product. 7/10
14. Bad Reputation - This is a refreshing song. It reminds me of an updated version of Miss Independent. She sounds so sassy and confident on this one about not wanting people to know she's fallen in love. 9/10
15. In the Blue - This song is very endearing and bittersweet about always having a place in your heart for that special someone with you who are no longer dating with for whatever reason. Her emotions on this one are on point. 9/10
16. Second Wind - This is probably my favorite song on the entire CD. I don't get the dislike it. I love the lyrics and message. Maybe I'm just going through a lot right now and love how Kelly sings about renewing her internal energy and motivation. Her powerful vocals on this song drive home the message that Kelly is here to stay and isn't slowing down. This is a message that anyone can relate to. You can't be slowed down by anyone. 10/10
Overall, I think think the bonus tracks are just as good, if not better than the standard edition tracks.

I'm really on love with Tightrope too.
Those are definitely the highlights of the album ... I'm obsessed with them along with Bad Reputation although I feel like piece by piece has more fillers than her other albums :/
