I want to know who casted this curse. I still don't believe it was Emma. Assuming it was her, she would have to give up the thing she loves most and last I checked Henry, Hook, and her parents were okay. I still think it was Merlin or he had a big part to do with this curse. That would explain why we haven't seen him in present day. I also want to know what sent Emma over the edge to fully embrace becoming the Dark One.

I don't think anyone enacted the "dark curse" exactly. It was some sort of curse, yes, but not the dark curse. The dark curse was only enacted a 2nd time because they undid the first curse and Storybrooke didn't exist. So they couldn't travel back to Storybrooke because it wasn't there, and when they undid the curse, it prevented them from traveling to this world. That's why they HAD to enact the dark curse. This time Storybrooke was already there. There was no need to create the dark curse and create a fictional town. She just took their memories from the last 6 weeks, and sent them all back.
