Whitney is not the threat, Adele is the threat, no? She has 100M more AI than POM has. POM has to sell at least 100k more than SFTTR to be #1. Tho POM was #1 on iTunes with a 50% lead over everybody for at least 3 days straight, maybe even a little bit more.
It was a little more than 50 years ago that Chubby Checker's "The Twist" hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 for the second time (Jan. 13, 1962, for two weeks; it led in its first release the week of Sept. 19, 1960).
Although Katy Perry looks set to debut at No. 1 on next week's Hot 100 with "Part of Me," Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" has already come close to being the second song to reign in separate chart runs, having re-entered this week at No. 7.

This! if they keep putting out these atricles saying she'll have the largest debut since BTW and they have said a couple times it looks like she'll debut at #1 and then she debuts at #2 imma cut a bitch lol
I think this was posted already, but if this holds true she has #1 on lock!

Katy Perry's new "Part of Me," which was released digitally to retailers on Monday, Feb. 13, is heading for a debut sales week of around 400,000 to 420,000 downloads by week's end on Sunday, Feb. 19 -- so say industry prognosticators. That would mark the pop diva's best debut sales frame and the highest opening week for any act since Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" sold 448,000 on the chart dated Feb. 26, 2011, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
"Rolling in the Deep," which she performed on the show and earned both record and song of the year awards, could sell over 250,000 downloads. Meanwhile, her most recent single, "Set Fire to the Rain," may move around 220,000 while "Someone Like You" could sell 170,000.
