Auditory, of or relating to the sense of hearing. Sights, the faculty or power of seeing. With them sinking, its illustrating the action of falling asleep. I never explicitly stated the shapeless figure was a human, but the song is being sung in a dream like state. There are dreams where you can't quite place who you're dreaming about, but you know you're dreaming about someone. That's what that line means. Lucid, expressed clearly; easy to understand. Easy control the singer feels they have over the other person during the chorus.
I never really write my songs with intention of wanting to seem deep or interesting, I would be trying to plug in a ton of unusual vocabulary not really suited for a song if that were true.
