DRL REMEMBERS AALIYAH (Taped 8/25)
For those of you who don't already know, Aaliyah passed away 2 years ago.
Now, I promised I would do an Aaliyah tribute, and even though it may not be the best since I've only known her since Are You That Somebody which was almost 5 years ago, I'm gonna do the best I can. Also, we couldn't get most of the guests that were supposed to come because they had other things scheduled. However, we do have the person who rose into super-stardom thanks to her. I'm here with Timbaland for a few minutes.
But before we talk to him, let's not forget this. We should remember that Aaliyah helped pave way for some of today's hot r&b & hip-hop stars, including Bubba Sparxxx, Kiley Dean, Missy Elliott and Tank.
Also, this thought came to me. During DRL guest host week, Johnny, our resident KoRn fanatic had Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails stop by as his co-host. Trent had talked about doing a collaboration with Aaliyah, but I'm not sure if that's what he said.
Later on, we'll play the top 10 best Aaliyah songs to make DRL. After that, we'll chat with Timbaland.
