I remember that "On The Floor" was #1 on itunes for almost the whole week then E.T went #1 on Saturday and the final numbers that week were E.T 216k and On The Floor 215k

The weekend is basically over. There are only 26 hours left in the sales week and even now that E.T. is above S&M it's only above by an incredibly small amount, not even a double digit gap. According to Billboard S&M is projected to sell 30-40k more then E.T.
Basically E.T. would need to extend the gap by quite a bit within this 26 hour window for it to outsell or match S&M. Which at the moment doesn't seem to be happening:
E.T. 86
S&M: 80
Difference: 6
E.T. is currently selling 6% more then S&M is currently selling. S&M was selling at least 30% more then E.T. all during the week. Why are posters flipping out over E.T.'s sudden 6% increase on late Saturday night/Sunday morning? When E.T. has a huge lead over S&M then you can start to worry but this happened way to late in the race and likely won't stop S&M from claiming the top spot.
Even with the airplay gains that E.T. is getting it's still at a disadvantage. 128 million to 121 million with Katy gaining 2-3 million a day would leave E.T. with a total of 127 million AI or 130 million AI at the end of the chart week while S&M has 128 million. Either way S&M is still going to outsell E.T. which gives it the edge in terms of total points.

Basically. I could understand if this happened on Thursday. But seriously? One day left. A Sunday even which is likely to have
less sales then both Friday and Saturday. I can't.
