It's a much weaker album than the previous ones. They released the wrong second single (No.1 or not), the label and her wanted to split. I also think the album cover really turned off a lot of her older/AC audience

I think that was actually the whole point of the era. She sexed up her image because she was tired of being an AC artist while being so young herself. And I love her for that

The album is not her best, but it's full of bops and more uptempo than the rest of her work, so it stands out to me. Butterfly and The Roof from the Butterfly album and Can't Take That Away and Crybaby from the Rainbow album should have been treated better though

I was at the Sydney concert and before she performed Thirsty she told us all to make sure we're singing the lyrics because we could be in her next video clip! She then went into the crowd for the start of the song then went back onto the stage to perform the rest of the song

A lot of Rainbow is a reflection of music at the time. Mariah rarely follows trends, and Rainbow kind of feels like there's tracks that are ether a) generic 2.0s of Butterfly gems or b) attempts at being trendy

So it is a music video then? If its like 100%, she might as well keep it because it'll be a nonevent. Rather, if she really wants to do visuals for the song, just do a mash up like Hero.

Honestly, take the time to get a manager and team together to capitalize on the popularity of the Holiday season and then launch new projects after that. I must admit, she has been doing a great job thus far without a team. However, I am not sure how much longer she can do so.
