I've been on a jazz kick for the past three months.
And I would not mind a re-recording of The Wind. It's a masterpiece. I would like to see her kinda rework Subtle Invitation in the event that she decides to re-record it, make it more subtle

I might travel 6+ hours to see her. It would be a Chirstmas miracle () if I got tickets!
My friend and I really wanna go, being in NYC. But we're gonna have to see if money is an issue first A price range of 80-280 for a 17 year old doesn't look too good.

I just remembered I don't have a passport so I can't go. I live in Canada.
I've been a fan of Mariah for a long time, and I'm not just saying this because it's her latest album, but I honestly believe this is the best body of work she has ever created, or tied with Butterfly maybe. It just... IS Mariah.
If you know Mariah, you'll understand the album.

I think it's wonderful. The music is just outstanding and the album is put together beautifully with such attention to detail, as Mariah always has done. The thing I love about it the most though is that it encapsulates Mariah so well. The album title is true to it. "Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse". Some people may think it's silly, but when you listen to the album, the meaning, the story, the concept all just falls into place.
You better prach, sis. I could not have phrased my feelings towards that album any better. It's her best album since "Butterfly" and I am thankful.
Guys, I've been rediscovering Mariah's back catalogue and I have a question : Why did her label mess up the Rainbow era??
I know the whole deal with Tony and I know that Mariah wanted Mariah's theme as the third single and the label tricked her, but there were so many potential singles on the album (X Girlfriend, How Much). It's a shame

Just like The Roof/Butterfly/Breakdown snub from Bfly album, Motolla has become unsupportive since their divorce
but... X-Girlfriend and How Much is not single worthy imo
they should have pushed and treated Crybaby as a SINGLE... #Justice4Crybaby

They didn't push Crybaby? I thought they sent it to radio and gave it a physical release? They're stupid
X Girlfriend would have fit in very well in the late 90's/ early 00's radio style. Mya's Case Of Ex reached #2 a year later and X Girlfriend is very similar
And How Much would have slayed because Mariah was the queen of radio and Usher was the king in the late 90's, so their names alone would carry it

Well, actually Mariah wanted Can't Take That Away as her third single so finally they decided to release it as a double A-side with Crybaby. Anyway, both has minimal airplay...
Oh.. I forgot Usher was very popular back then ... The song would slay chart, 16 weeks #1 just like One Sweet Day
An Usher collaboration would've been cool in 2005. I used to listen to Confessions and Emancipation back to back and he was extremely successful at the time.
How Much is cute, but excepted more from the two tbh.

Thirsty getting ready for release, starts with memes

1. Divorce, no support from her label and Tommy
2. Her sound was getting too urban.
3. Competition from Christina, Britney, and the new wave of new generation pop
4. She bought ALL the rights for Rainbow, which at that time, she said the era that made her the most money.
5. JLo.

It's a much weaker album than the previous ones. They released the wrong second single (No.1 or not), the label and her wanted to split. I also think the album cover really turned off a lot of her older/AC audience
