I agree, the beauty and raw quality of the original is lost in the production. To be honest, had they kept the original production, I think Try would've done a bit better on the charts.

I agree. Greg ruined the song's simple amazingness. That's why I play the original version more.

Girls Greg did ruin Try but it was only catered to be a radio hit. The original production would have flopped on radio & hence on the charts.

No, it was transformed to a mainstream pop cliché to ensure the good charting, with the original instrumental it would have stood out and maybe would have not struggled to reach the TOP10.

JGMAR has a very drum-heavy beat to it in the chorus. Also the general public is familiar with piano productions like Someone Like You, now Stay & When I Was Your Man even Glitter In The Air, the GNTGS version of Try falls into soft rock.

Try did not struggle to reach the Top 10. Us stans made it feel like it struggled. All Pink had to do was perform it once even before its release. And lets not forget Try went Top 10 in 30+ countries easily outperforming the generic lead single & well-promoted airplay smash that was Blow Me despite having less than quarter the amount of airplay around the world.

I was talking about the US. It was a long run to reach the #9 spot. Because all the things you said the "original" would be a bigger smash, I know.

Underdogs makes a good point. Most people are judging Try based on how it performed in the US when in reality it did great internationally. The song is definitely great but some stans are extremely picky.
