As some of you might have seen I spent last year compiling lists of my favorite songs from 2004, which for me was one of the best (if not the best) years in music of the whole 00s decade. I really wanted to share the final result in this thread so I'll be posting sets of 20 songs with every update of my weekly countdown. If you wanna leave your comments they're appreaciated =).

200 Embrace - Ashes
160
Three Days Grace "Just Like You"
Their songs always charge me up. This video is a little weird though.
159
McFly - "Obviously"
Second of four appearances by McFly. This song reminds me of a couple of personal situations.
158
Snow Patrol "Spitting Games"
First of three appearances. This era was definitely their best. This song is so catchy.
157
Jay-Z & Linkin' Park "Numb/Encore"
A very unusual mash-up. Yet it was amazing. They should've released more singles.
156
Nickelback - "Someday"
Thanks to this song I started listening to their discography. As of now it's one of my favorite singles by them.
155
Girls Aloud - "I'll Stand By You"
Not bad for a typical british charity cover single. The original version is a classic.
154
Alanis Morissette "Out Is Through"
This song deserved way more success than it got. Splitting singles is not always a good idea.
153
Chevelle - "Vitamin R"
Decent song. A really didn't know they released stuff way back then. This is one of the songs that I discovered last year.
152
The Von Bondies "C'mon C'mon"
IProbably none of you knows this song. You should listen to it, it's so catchy and addictive.
151
Howie Day - "She Says"
This is the first song of Howie's that I liked. He's a very talented song writer, and it's certainly not his last appearance.
150
Story Of The Year "Anthem Of Our Dying Day"
Another powerful song. I'm still to listen to a few more songs from this band.
149
Marylin Manson - "Personal Jesus"
You might aswell call this vicious song a guilty pleasure. The video is way over the top and I'm not even religious.
148
Hilary Duff - "So Yesterday"
This song marked the start of a sick stannery in my personal taste. Now I'm proud to say I've outgrown that part of me but I still feel nostalgia about it. She'll remain the best Disney girl.
147
The All-American Rejects "Time Stands Still"
Not bad for a debut album. They already had it in them. They should go back to basics someday.
146
Shania Twain - "Party For Two"
This song was far below Shania's standards. Yet she managed to make a very funny video. I smile everytime I watch it.
145
Norah Jones - "Sunrise"
I still can't figure out how she achieved such notoriety in such a short time. Her songs might not be very entertaining but she certainly has a very unique voice.
144
Hoobastank - "Out Of Control"
I kind of hoped they would be the typical mellow band, but I was surprised to see most of their repertory didn't even sound like "The Reason". This song screams power.
143
Kylie Minogue - "Slow"
This song is a very slow grower. At first I thought it was rather weak and boring, but that beat just gets under your skin.
142
Kelis - "Trick Me"
Now another guilty pleasure. After that infectious mess Milkshake I had to check what she had to offer. Sadly this was the last single of hers that I liked.
141
Josh Groban - "You Raise Me Up"
His best single to date, he's like the male version of Norah Jones, I love his piano mellodies and his voice is just the cherry on top.
