"A" is Alison's twin .
It has been obvious since season 1, they just continue creating smoke distractions and plot fillers season after season. It was pretty much confirmed on this episode.

So I don't know if someone has already mentioned this, but in the finale, when Mrs. D is telling Alison that she didn't want her going out, she tells Alison that she "can never turn her back on a Hastings".

Later, when they show Mrs. D watching Alison get hit in the head through the window, we know that Ali's back was to her attacker.

Not sure if this is just something minor or something real because you never know with this show. But the "Hastings" in this case can be Melissa, Mr. Hastings, or Jason (because his father is Mr. Hastings).

I like this theory.

Honestly the books are SO much better

I started the 14th one last night and just finished it, the twists are so much better than the TV show, they're nowhere near as predictable and they're believable!(ish)
