Imo LWWY was the right choice of first single. However, it followed too closely after WMYB in the US, and the two are very samey, which made it feel redundant. I honestly believe that it would have been a hit if there had been 2 years between the albums. When you are doing rapid fire releases like 1D are you MUST mix things up...... which is what they failed to do this era imo.

That's true, although considering there
wasn't two years between the two albums, I think LWWY was a bad choice. Using your reasoning, my suggestion of "Magic" also wouldn't work, but maybe they could have released a track like "She's Not Afraid" or "Rock Me" instead.
Of course all of this is useless because what happened, happened, but it's fun to speculate.
I've notived a trend. Basically every year a VERY significant member comes along in the base with all the new ones. Last year it was Jack!, shown by all the awards he won last time, I'd like to say this year it was me
