I think Katherine will use the traveler's spell on Elena
I actually saw something about a potential body swap. They could have Katherine & Elena switch bodies that way Katherine would go back to being a vampire and Elena would become human again. They spent all of Season 4 trying to "cure" Elena so she could be human again - so I really think that's what should have happened. Plus John Gilbert died for nothing - he died so that Elena wouldn't be a vampire and now that she is I feel like his death was meaningless.
I've never particularly really liked Elena but she was much more tolerable for me back in the first couple seasons.
I feel like this season was scrapped and rewritten several times before filming, it's like they're using leftover material patched together, not really nice.
After watching The Originals this week, I have come to the conclusion that it is SOO MUCH BETTER than TVD. I feel like TVD is still stuck on the teenage drama kick, while The Originals has been able to, in just 11 episodes, become a full fledged and well rounded show. TVD this season has been so messy
Still love it though, but if they kill off Katherine...I will be pissed.

I mean who else could play 3 characters who look the same but each have distinct personalities. To even pull it off in a scene all together despite it being edited together.
