This era is a mess. Since the album release it has been downhill for her and for this fanbase.
I accepted her (and her fans) during BTW, because the music was still decent. She had bops. Instead of making a safer era she has completely lost it now.
As a Gaga fan since '08, I think she has lost me too (ARTPOP album 73 plays).

No. Not even close. I was really excited when I heard everything after the leak, but honestly I think this is her worst album to date yet. Y'all should know that my opinion isn't manipulated by reviews, charts and sales. I care about the music and the music only. BTW and TFM are just miles better. Even TF is better than this thanks to those timeless hits and genuinely fun album tracks. Hell, even Summerboy is better than the majority of this album. The only track that I like, maybe love, is Applause and that's saying something. Every album of hers had tracks that I ****ing loved. There are no BBB-, DitD-, SHICD-, Scheisse-, or HML-esque tracks here.
ARTPOP is anything but being a pretentious artist. It's more like being a mediocre poppist. The production is so thin, lifeless, too damn fast/bleep-blooped which gives the music no time to breath at all and contains even more cringeworthy lyrics compared to BTW's. I thought that was impossible when it had **** like Highway Unicorn (Road to Cancer). Dope is the worst Gaga track. Ever. And why would I listen to Gypsy when we already have the flawless bop named Edge of Glorysus in her discography? Besides, it's just an awful campy song. I think Fashion! is really underrated and underappreciated. I enjoy it from time to time. It's like a Fame track, but with updated 2012 (

) production. Venus is a grower and DWUW was the only right choice to be the 2nd single. Everything else is decent to meh. Applause and its instrumental is still the best thing she has done after the BTW era. That being said, I think her Japan appareances and performances were the best thing this era. She should've gone all cute K- and J-pop on us and at least bring something 'new' to the general public. Applause and Venus are, imo, already US renditions of the K- and J-pop sound and feeling.
I think she is lost with her own drive and creativity. She needs to get inspired by her primal inspirations again and not by her fans. I think it's hilariously ironic that the thing she loves the most right now is the thing it has hurt her the most: her own goddamn little peasants.
BTW = TFM > TF > AP
My rating: 2 floppy Miley butts out of 5
