but I won't really be laughing if they manage to make enough of a stink to continue the cycle of building up another pop act just to bring them down
that'll be depressing as hell
that's why I get defensive and sh!t, I fear people using that as a tool to ruin things that people enjoy, use to cope, and live for.
Gurl, CL ain't going nowhere. Nobody is going to make THAT much stink. **** is always overblown initially, then it simmers down when people come to their senses. Shame most don't seem to have any to begin with tho
I saw VFiles post a part of CL's performance on their instagram praising her and I was really happy/excited she was getting recognition for her talents and now this Quran drama is happening?
Religion brings out the worst in people, I swear. Telling a 23 year old girl to "kill herself" and "burn in hell" is just absurd.
it would be so spineless to remove it though. It's not inherently offensive. Nobody's made the millions of people who used Christian themes in their music apologize. Fck that.
I asked two muslim friends about it and they said they know people will make a stink about it but they're not offended. They were actually proud of the fact it was used as a sample idk.
The audio's out there and will always be out there. Kind of like the scandal with Bey's 'XO'.
You can edit and rerelease but I don't think that should be the case here.
EDIT: I'm sure Kurdled Petty wanted to be controversial with her stupid *** and I doubt CL was like "yo, let's throw in something from the Quran for my solo track on my extremely hyped album."
I don't understand the controversy over people who aren't part of a group using that group's symbolism for alternate purposes. She's not Muslim, it doesn't hold any weight to her, and there's no reason it should.
