I mean, Thirsty is catchy and very hood but it isn't what Mariah needs in her career right now. If anything it'll make her credibility worse as an artist because she's over 40 years old and she's cussing and singing real HOOD. Thirsty will NOT crossover or become a smash. It will be just an Urban radio hit, if anything.
You Don't Know What To Do is universally appealing and so many people that dislike her has said many positive things about the song. I do not understand why Mariah hasn't responded to that but instead keep pushing for Thirsty. I do understand why she is doing this though, because Urban has not played her or responded to her recent material at all so she needs something to get her name back on the charts.
If they do still go with Thirsty, I can only hope that they're keeping it at Urban and wait until it peaks so YDKWTD will be released afterwards and be a multi-format smash because it can literally get played EVERYWHERE!
