I agree Janna is stronger than Nami. Janna got me to plat. But of the 4 games I picked Nami, I won 3 and I think that was partially because I recognized that my team needed Nami more than Janna.

Making picks with Janna is quite easy, it's just initiations that are difficult. But Nami's ult isn't good for engage either cause of how slow it is, it's better used as counter engage. To be fair though it is godly counter engage. Nami's q can be decent engage if she hits it but it's more like a ''make a pick then ult the enemy team when they go in to collapse'' tea.
Personal win rates don't matter much tho. This season I'm 3-2 with Nami MID in ranked (one loss was with an intent feeder + afk + the other 2 being like 0/8 and yet my kda was still like 6:1 so) and 4-1 with Nami last season. I consider myself good at Nami but I stopped using her cause I didn't see it as worth it compared to other picks. Nami support operates the same as Janna besides very small differences that are negligible anyway and Nami mid (at least the way I play it) operates similarly to Lux mid.
Edit: actually now that I think about it both of my Nami losses I had this season I had an afk in
and then one had an intent feeder too
